Raymond H. Coakley Jr.

Raymond H. Coakley, Jr., 76, of South Breezewood Road, Breezewood, PA; passed away on Wednesday, October 11, 2017 at James E. Van Zandt Medical Center, Altoona, PA.  He was born on March 14, 1941 in Norristown, Pennsylvania; a son of the late Raymond H. Coakley, Sr. and Florence (Gilmore) Coakley. On February 28, 1978 in Elkton, Maryland; he married Sandra J. (Agostini) Coakley.

Along with his wife of thirty-nine years, he is survived by four children, a sister and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by three children.

Mr. Coakley was a member of Jerusalem Christian Church in Warfordsburg, PA as well as a lifetime member of the Breezewood V.F.W. Post 8333.

He enjoyed antique collecting and driving his tractor. He was especially fond of his beloved dog “Soxs”

After graduation, Raymond served in the United States Army, serving in the Vietnam War as a SP4(T). He worked as an owner/operator truck driver throughout his life.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, October 14, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. at the Jerusalem Christian Church, 273 Church Road, Warfordsburg, PA 17276 with Pastor Lauren Bard officiating.

Friends and family will be received at the church on Saturday, October 14, 2017 from 10:00 A.M. until the hour of service at 11:00 A.M.

Military Honors will be conducted by the Everett Area Honor Guard.

Burial will be held privately at the family’s convenience.
