Patricia A. Jay

Patricia A. Jay, 74, of Clearville, passed away on June 23, 2017 at Donahoe Manor.  She was born on April 22, 1943 in Bedford, PA; a daughter of the late William H. and Beatrice M. (Batzel) Cook.  On November 14, 1959 in Clear Springs, MD, she married Mason “Eugene” Jay.  Along with her husband, she is survived by children; William “Billy” K. Jay and fiancé Leslie Reed, Little Orleans, MD; Ricky E. Jay married to Gina (Brallier), Everett, PA; Tammy A. Chamberalin married to Barry, Clearville, PA;  Six grandchildren, Angie Mallow, Billie Jo Jay, Mindy Gates, Chelsea Shatzer, Colby Chamberlain, Kelly Chamberlain; Eight great-grandchildren, Dalton, Bryce and Cayden Mallow, Macy, McKenzie and Robert Gates, Brystal Shatzer, Luke Chamberlain; and she was expecting a great-great-grandson in September; and numerous foster great-grandchildren; Siblings, Irma Greenawalt, Bedford, PA; Linda Dixon married to Ray, Bedford, PA; Margaret “Peggy” Stone married to Richard, Bedford, PA; Bonnie Baughman and Denny Hill, Harriosonville, PA; Ethel King married to Ron, Clearwater, Florida; Harry Cook married to Cindy (Mellott), Everett, PA; Special friends Dallas and Debbie Bard of Harrisonville, PA

She was preceded in death by a sister, Brenda Varner.

Patricia enjoyed sewing, quilting, crafting, painting, picnicking and camping. She also enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and her dog, “Lulu”.

She was member of the Bethel Christian Church in Purcell as well as the Wannabe Quilters of Artemas. Mrs. Jay was employed as a cook at the RoadKill Café and other restaurants throughout her lifetime and also was a maid at various motels in Breezewood and other businesses. She was a cook at Nazarene Church Camp in Needmore for many years.

Family and Friends may call at the Akers Funeral Home, 299 Raystown Road, Everett on Wednesday, June 28, 2017 from 6-8 P.M. and on Thurday from 10:00 A.M. until the hour of service at the funeral home.

Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, June 29, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. in the Chapel at Akers Funeral Home, Everett with Pastor Ronald Hott officiating.

Burial will be held in Pine Grove Cemetery, Clearville, PA
