Kayla Lashell Ruby

Kayla Lashell Ruby, 20, of Sawdust Drive, Saxton passed away on Monday, December 11, 2017.  She was born on April 20, 1997 in Everett, Pennsylvania; a daughter of Kim (Dively) Kline, Everett, PA and Richard Ruby II married to Kim Ruby, Artemas, PA.  Along with her mother, father and stepmother she is survived by her two month old son Creed Lemin, sister Lynda Ruby, Robertsdale, PA; brother Shannon Kline married to Jeanette, Baltimore, MD; grandparents Richard and Josine Ruby, Everett; Virginia Ruby, Duncansville; Sharon Dively and Larry Stabnau, Carlisle, PA; Stanley Dively and Carol; Surprise, AZ and Christine Barker, Needmore, PA; nephews Mitchel Kline and Jacob Black and numerous aunts and uncles.

She was preceded in death by grandparents Lillie Ruby, Bruce and Mildred Foor. 

Kayla was a graduate of Everett Area High School Class of 2015 and studied culinary at the Bedford County Technical Center.  She attended Community Grace Brethren Church, Everett, PA.

Kayla was employed at Homewood Retirement Center in the dietary department.

She enjoyed hunting, fishing, four wheeler riding, horseback riding and cooking and loved her cats.

She had a great love for her son and family and friends.

Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, December 16, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. in the Chapel at Akers Funeral Home with Pastor Lee Seese officiating.

Friends and Family may call at the Akers Funeral Home, Inc., 299 Raystown Road, Everett, PA on Friday, December 15, 2017 from 2-4 P.M. and 6-8 P.M. and on Saturday from 10:00 A.M. until the hour of service at the funeral home.

Burial will be held at Mt. Zion Church Cemetery, Chaneysville, PA.

If friends so desire memorial contributions may be made in memory of Kayla to the family to establish an account for her son Creed.
