Joyce M. (Grimes) Tenley, 73, of Martinsburg formerly of Snake Spring Valley, Everett; passed away on Saturday, January 20, 2018 at The Village at Morrisons Cove, Martinsburg. She was born on March 31, 1944 in Everett, Pennsylvania; a daughter of the late John R. and Ethel (Baker) Grimes. On June 23, 1975 she was united in marriage to James L. Tenley. He preceded her in death on August 18, 2014.

She is survived by children: Tina married to Dave Bollman; Penny married to Blair Dively, Sr.; Valerie married to Ron Smith, Sr.; Myra Hinson; Ricky Bussard; Teresa married to Randy Hasting; Mike Tenley married to Tonya; William “Brian” Tenley married to Amy; Tommy Tenley married to Michelle; Sabrena married to Paul Musselman; John Tenley; Joy-Ell married to John Gutshall; siblings M. Delores McCarty; M. Marcella Morgret; Darrell E. Grimes; J. Dean married to Elmira; Mereta M. Imes and sister-in-law Ruthann Grimes; thirty-one grandchildren; fifty-five great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by three great grandchildren and siblings Dale S. Grimes, Richard “Dick” Grimes, Audrey F. Swope and Gary L. Grimes.

Joyce was a member of the Snake Spring Valley Church of the Brethren.

She enjoyed playing Bingo, reading, doing jigsaw puzzles and hosting family gatherings.

Family and Friends may call at the Snake Spring Valley Church of the Brethren on Monday, January 22, 2018 from 5-8 P.M. and on Tuesday from 10:00 A.M. until the hour of service at the church.

Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. at the Snake Spring Valley Church of the Brethren with Pastor David Grimes and Pastor Paul Snyder officiating.

Burial will be held in Duvall Cemetery, Six Mile Run, PA.

If friends so desire memorial contributions may be made in memory of Mrs. Tenley to The Village at Morrison’s Cove, Benevolent Fund, 429 South Market Street, Martinsburg, PA 16662.
