Joyce L. Miller

 Joyce L. (Dicken) Miller, 77, of Chaneysville, PA; passed away on Saturday, September 9, 2017 as a result of a car accident.  She was born on May 18, 1940 in Cumberland, Maryland; a daughter of the late Wilbur & Vula Dicken.

 She is survived by son Greg Miller married to Darla; grandchildren Jennifer Dziuk and husband Brian Rinker, Jamie, Ryan and Justin Miller; great grandchildren Kolden Dziuk and Ava Bishop; step grandchildren Cody and Dakota Glessner; sisters Martha & Doris, and brother Tommy. She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Miller and a daughter Rhonda.

Joyce attended Everett School where she met and amazing boy named Earl.  They were married for 60 years.  Because they were in the Air Force, they lived in various places all over the world and continued to travel after they retired.
She had so many friends and neighbors who blessed her life & we're grateful to all of you who looked out for her, especially Gloria & Randy Johnson.

Joyce was an active member of the Chaneysville Fire Hall for 40 years and a member of the Ladies Auxiliary.  She loved getting together with her car club, camping with family & friends, and was an awesome cook.

 Her favorite thing was family.  She begged us to visit and never seemed to get enough.  While we were eating at one gathering, she'd start talking about what we were going to eat at the next!
 She was kind, thoughtful, loving, and treated us like we were her treasures.  We'll miss her laugh & hearing her voice, but know she'll be as close as she's allowed to be.  Behind the clouds the sun is still shining & we were all blessed by the light she gave to our lives.

Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday September 13, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. in the Chapel at Akers Funeral Home.

Family and Friends may call at the Akers Funeral Home, Inc., 299 Raystown Road, Everett, PA on Tuesday, September 12, 2017 from 4-8 P.M. and on Wednesday from 10:00 A.M. until the hour of service at the funeral home.
 Burial will be held at Prosperity Cemetery.
