Gloria Jean Barringer

Gloria Jean Barringer, 73, of Martinsburg, passed away on Thursday, June 1, 2017 at The Village at Morrison’s Cove.  She was born on July 31, 1943 in Roaring Spring, Pennsylvania; a daughter of the late Charles and Sarah (Teeter) Teeter.  On September 19, 1964 she married John Richard Cogan. He preceded her in death on May, 16, 1983. She later married George “Tiny” Barringer on May 11, 1991. He preceded her in death on September 16, 2013.

She is survived by the two children Alicia married to Al Tamilio, Falls Church, VA and

John Woodrow Cogan married to Delores Jeannie, Westernport, MD; sister Shirley Mauk, Martinsburg, PA and two sisters-in-law Mary Clites and Ruth Stonerook and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by brothers Ronald and Paul Teeter.

Mrs. Barringer was a member of the Martinsburg Volunteer Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary.  Jean enjoyed attending worship services at the Village Chapel.

She was a graduate of Central High School Class of 1962.  Throughout her life she worked as a cook at the Kitty Hawk Restaurant, Creekside Inn, Spring House Restaurant and the Fish Bowl Inn. She also worked at Cove Shoe and in Tri-Tex in Altoona.  She lastly was a caregiver for Home Nursing Agency until her retirement.

Family and Friends may call at The Chapel in The Village at Morrison’s Cove, 429 South Market Street, Martinsburg, PA 16662, on Friday, June 2, 2017 from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. and on Saturday June 3, 2017 from 9:00 A.M. until the hour of service.

Funeral Service will be in the Chapel at The Village at Morrison’s Cove on Saturday, June 3, 2017 at 10:00 A.M. with Pastor Linda Banaszak officiating.

Burial will be held in Dry Hill Cemetery.
