Gary A. Tewell

Gary A. "Gob" Tewell, 78, of Blair Street, Hollidaysburg, PA; passed away on Friday, August 18, 2017 at UPMC Altoona Hospital. He was born on January 1, 1939 in Everett, Pennsylvania; a son of the late Ellis H. and Freda I. (Weicht) Tewell. He is survived by his former wife and mother to their children Linda (Gorsuch) Tewell; Shawn G. Tewell married to Stephanie (Swick) Falling Waters, WV; Melinda S. Woolingham, Martinsburg, WV and Michelle R. Raley married to Scott, Falling Waters, WV; grandchildren Bria Tewell, Kelsey Majewski, Kamryn Majewski, Gracy Tewell, Evan Tewell and Noah Raley; and a brother Tom Tewell married to Bonnie, Everett, PA. He was preceded in death by a sister Sandra Fetter and also an infant sister. He was baptized in the Mormon Faith. Gary was employed for Conrail – Norfolk Southern Railroad as a supervisor for many years until his retirement. He enjoyed riding horses, Nascar racing, hunting and fishing. Gary was a member of the Sons of American Legion in Hollidaysburg. A Private Graveside Service will be held at Frame Church Cemetery. Arrangements by Akers Funeral Home, Inc., 299 Raystown Road, Everett.
