Eva (Kowalchik) Zenoble, 92, of State College, PA passed away on Thursday, June 15, 2017 at her daughter’s home in Potomac Falls, Virginia. Eva was preceded by her husband and all her siblings. Eva is survived by her daughters Elaine and Daria, son Richard, grandchildren Jimmy, Danny, Richie, multiple nieces and nephews, and dear friends.
Burial service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, 24 June at Saint Michael’s Orthodox Church, Wood, PA. Akers Funeral Chapel in Saxton, PA is handling all funeral arrangements. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Saint Michael’s Orthodox Church in Wood, PA.
Eva was the daughter of late John and Helen (Muha) Kowalchick. She was born in Wood, PA on August 7, 1924 the sixth of eight children. At the age of 24 she travelled to New York City where she worked at the Arthur Murray dance studio and family legend has it that her students included Humphrey Bogart! It was on her return to Wood in the summer of 1955 that she met the love of her life, Richard (Dick) Zenoble. They married a year later in Wood, PA and enjoyed 50 years together. Dicks’ work as a professional highway engineer took them all over the United States where Eva’s personality and generosity won them a myriad of close friends. Eva loved spending time in the kitchen with loved ones preparing and cooking traditional Slavic foods.
