Doris L. Leonard

Doris L. Leonard, 89, of Saxton, PA; passed away on Saturday, March 31, 2018 at UPMC Altoona Hospital.  She was born on July 26, 1928 in Detroit, Michigan; a daughter of the late Thomas Axon and Evelyn (Rhoat) Axon – Houck and step-father Richard Houck.  On October 20, 1951 in Saxton, Pennsylvania; she was united in marriage to Robert “Bob” Leonard.  He preceded her in death on December 8, 1988.

She is survived by three children: Randall J. Leonard, Saxton; Jodi C. Heath, Saxton and Barry S. Leonard married to Patricia, Saxton, PA; grandchildren Randy Leonard, Wayland Heath married to Kendra, Lindsey married to Bill Hartman, Amber married to Scott Musselman, Kristi Leonard, Lindsey Black and Colton Reasey; three great grandchildren Blake and Brody Heath and Jeremiah Musselman; a sister LaVerne Crooks, Robertsdale, PA; and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a son-in-law Chester L. Heath.

Mrs. Leonard was a member of Saxton First Church of God.  She was a member of the Saxton Volunteer Fire Company, having been active in the ladies auxiliary.

She was employed at Quality Manufacturing, Saxton.

Doris enjoyed crocheting, camping, going on bus trips, watching the Pittsburgh Pirates and mostly spending time with her family and dogs.

Friends and Family may call at the Akers Funeral Chapel, 715 Church Street, Saxton, PA on Thursday, April 5, 2018 from 10:00 A.M. until the hour of service.

Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, April 5, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. at the Akers Funeral Chapel with Pastor James Lynn officiating.  Saxton Volunteer Fire Company will conduct a service.

Burial will be held at Grandview Cemetery.
