Delores R. (Blackstone) Thomas

Delores R. Thomas, 87, of Mt. Chapel Road, Breezewood, PA; passed away on August 4, 2017 at Pennknoll Village.  She was born on July 28, 1930 in Haustown, Mifflin County, PA; a daughter of the late Rev. Walter E. and Mildred (Westover) Blackstone.  On September 29, 1951 in Bunker Hill Camp, Everett, PA, she married Guy E. Thomas.  He preceded her in death on September 8, 1981.  She is survived by children, Sharon T. Houck, Breezewood, PA; Dallas K. McCoy, Breezewood, PA, Emory A. Thomas, Everett, PA; brother Philip Blackstone married to Karin; five grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter Nita S. Kifer and siblings Joe Blackstone, Sam Blackstone, Jeanetta Ritchey, Mirium Musselman, Daniel Blackstone and Dallas Blackstone.

Mrs. Thomas attended Mt. Chapel Brethren in Christ Church.

Delores worked at the Post House in the ticket office for Greyhound busing for over twenty years until her retirement and later worked at Old Bedford Village under the Green Thumb Program.

She enjoyed flower gardening and spending time with her grandchildren.  She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and was kind to all.

Friends and Family may call on Tuesday, August 8, 2017 at the Akers Funeral Home, Inc., 299 Raystown Road, Everett from 5-8 P.M. and on Wednesday from 10:00 A.M. until the hour of service at the church.

Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, August 9, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. at the Mt. Chapel Brethren in Christ Church with Pastor Ronald Hott and Pastor H. Lee Ritchey officiating.

Burial will be held at Mt. Chapel Cemetery.
