Clara Jane Smeltzer, 74, of Indiana Avenue, Bedford, PA; passed away on Sunday, November 12, 2017 at UPMC Mercy Hospital, Pittsburgh, PA. She was born on April 6, 1943 in Ogletown, PA; a daughter of the late Cyril Smeltzer and Ida Mary (Moore) Smeltzer-Weist. She is survived by siblings David Smeltzer married to Sandy, Willow Street, PA and Evelyn married to David McMasters, Bloomingdale, OH; sisters-in-law: Linda Smeltzer and Catherine Smeltzer and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by brothers: James and Roy Smeltzer
Ms. Smeltzer attended Chestnut Ridge Independent Fellowship Church and also enjoyed visiting various local churches; she appreciated the gospel wherever it could be heard.
She was a graduate of Everett Area High School.
Clara enjoyed ceramics, listening to music and her greeting card ministry.
Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, November 16, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. in the Chapel at Akers Funeral Home with Pastor Daniel Oldham officiating.
Friends may call at the Akers Funeral Home, 299 Raystown Road, Everett, PA on Thursday, November 16, 2017 from 10:00 A.M. until the hour of service at the funeral home.
Burial will be held in Mt. Chapel Cemetery.
