Betty was a member of the Clear Creek Brethren in Christ Church for more than sixty years where she was a Sunday school teacher and a pianist and enjoyed singing.  She was also in charge of the gospel program on the local radio station.  Betty helped her husband on their farm and she did the bookwork for the family logging business for many years. She cleaned houses for several people in addition to cleaning the church. She was one of the first to come, if any of her family, friends or neighbors ever needed help.  Betty and her family took care of mowing the Union Memorial Cemetery for several years.

For the past several years Betty spent Sunday afternoons at the home of Earl and Ina Miller.  Ina and Betty were friends since childhood.  Before her health deteriorated, Betty enjoyed going to sporting events and races, to watch her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
